News & Commentary Affecting ALL Americans

Updated: Mar 27

Let's start here:

  • Signalgate needs to be addressed. The Signal Messaging App Chat between senior Defense and White House leaders was a monumental Operational Security (OpSec) failure. Heads need to roll for a number of reasons: first, they were using an unapproved and easily compromised communication system, and secondly, Waltz admittedly looped in Jeffery Goldberg a journalist and Editor-in-Chief of The Atlantic. So who's going to fall on their sword to 'save' Pete Hegseth and VP Vance? Waltz? Hegseth? And, now we hear from The Hill's Alex Gangitano that Elon Musk has been tasked by the White House to investigate Signalgate.

  • More Social Security Administration changes coming and how they will impact our nation's seniors. Mike Snider of USA Today wrote about the changes coming to overpayment repayment rates from variable at about 10% to 100% starting April 1st, 2025.

  • Medicaid Work Requirements are spreading across the nation. The Iowa Senate just passed their version and while there is currently no Federal Medicaid work requirement, with more states doing it, the fed is likely soon to follow.

Upcoming Legislative Discussions and Events on Transgender Issues

Tonight at 6 PM Eastern on Facebook, LinkedIn, X (Twitter), and YouTube, these stories will be covered:

  1. Stop the SAVE Act (HB 22) - Information and link for you to make a comment to your representatives HERE

  2. Arkansas Bill HB 1668 has been referred back to the author to make some legal corrections, then will come back for a vote out of committee. This bill is called the "Vulnerable Youth Protection Act" and seeks to create a private civil action against social transition of youth - think hair, clothes, etc. They are trying to correct it so that it could better pass constitutional scrutiny.

  3. Texas Bill 89(R) HB 3817 seeks to create a felony offense of Gender Identity Fraud. This morning, it was referred to the State Affairs Committee in the Texas Legislature.

  4. This coming Monday is Transgender Day of Visibility. It's always on the 31st of March. Lots of activities will take place around the nation over this coming weekend. One in particular will by a non-partisan event lead by Minority Veterans of America. See the announcement in the image below. If you are in DC and can do so safely, please consider attending.
